WAYS TO SUPPORT WAG:
Shelter
Operations
Each
year the WAG animal shelter offers hope to over 100 animals
in need from Whistler to Lillooet. Volunteers and staff
attain a high quality of life for the animals through
veterinary care, spaying and neutering, diverse social
experiences, attentive training,
exercise
and mental stimulation. Our dogs spend their days walking,
playing, training, and lounging outside of their kennels.
WAG cats enjoy the perches, scratching posts, cubby holes
and windows of the common cat room.

The
WAG cattery has cubby holes, perches, toys, posts, and
windows to meet the cats’ need for climbing, jumping,
stretching, playing, hiding, and mental stimulation

The
Spotted Dog Run at the WAG shelter provides the dogs with
space to run and play.
Aries’ Fund: Emergency and Critical Care
WAG is
unique for the Second Chances Program that provides
care to injured or ill
homeless animals. Aries’ Fund was created to provide
emergency and critical care treatment for special cases.
Aries was a member of the WAG family who passed away
prematurely from cancer. Aries' fund helps prevent premature
suffering or death and provides animals in need with second
chances for health and happiness.

The Second
Chances Program
Spay and
Neuter Fund
The WAG Spay and Neuter Fund works to provide
spaying and neutering services to those in our communities
who have the least amount of access to them. Since 2005, the
Spay and Neuter Fund has spayed 125 dogs from the
community of
Mount
Currie, where the largest portion of the shelter’s dogs
originate. Click
here
for more information.
The Spay and Neuter Fund also supports WAG’s
Financial Assistance for Neuter and Spay (FANS) program,
providing subsidized spaying and neutering to low income
families in our local communities. For more information
about FANS click here.
