On Saturday August 23rd, 56 dogs and their human chaperones gathered at the Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa for our annual K9 Wine & Dine Fundraiser.

WAG volunteers served up a 3 course gourmet meal for our canine guests, compliments of Three Dog Bakery Vancouver. The Three Dog Bakery features all natural baked food for dogs. Our furry guests enjoyed a variety of yappetizers, followed by entrees of slow cooked chicken, rice, and vegetables. For dessert, they had fun with their "pupcakes".

Providing a gourmet meal for 56 dogs is no easy task We send out apaws to the Three Dog Bakery Vancouver! Plus, it takes a great team to serve this up to the dogs and make them feel like a million barks and we thank Gayle and her excellent team of volunteers!

Because we just didn't think that being served a gourmet meal in one of Whistler's best hotels was quite rich enough for the dogs, we created our "Pinot Growlio" for this special day. A light canine-gravy wine with essences of turkey and blueberries.

The Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa is a great hotel, not only for the wonderful buffet for humans they provided, but also for the professional and friendly service. We think that any hotel that welcomes 56 dogs into their ball room to support their local animal shelter is pretty fantastic.

WAG was honoured to have G Willy provide the live entertainment. We noticed that he slipped in a song or two about cats and we are glad because as much as we would like to have a "Feline Wine & Dine" we don't think the cats would enjoy it. However, the truth is that that night is as much about the cats as it is about dogs.

We are grateful to Chris Quinlan for providing his services each year as our Master of Ceremonies and auctioneer.

WAG is extremely grateful to PSAV for providing our sound system and equipment for delivering our "Hope & Promise" slide show to our guests.
